FTII set to celebrate golden jubilee year from Saturday

Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, a landmark institution in the field of arts and cinema is celebrating its golden jubilee year from tomorrow. Minister of Information and Broadcasting Mrs. Ambika Soni will preside over the function which will kick start the yare long celebrations. Renowned film personality Mr. Dev Anand would be the chief guest. Students from the first batch, teachers and some old staff of FTII and Prabhat Studio would be felicitated on this occasion.<br/><br/>There would be three-day celebrations up to 22 March apart from the year-long events to mark the occasion. It would include seminars, cultural programmes and exhibitions on topics pertaining to Indian cinema, some of the films that will be showcased during the festival made by the students of the first batch include Imtihan, Khilone, Masoom and Anjan and screening of films from the erstwhile Prabhat Studios era.<br/><br/>FTII director Mr. Pankaj Rag has said earlier, that the institute is planning an International Students Film Festival in September; in addition, to FTII film festivals in different cities across the country.
