FTII row: I&B team discuss issues regarding striking students

Team sent by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today started discussing various issues regarding striking students of FTII in Pune. Initially they have started discussions with faculty members and after that they are expected to have discussions with non-teaching staff and then with the Director Prashant Patharabe. <br/><br/>After hearing views of Faculty, Staff and Director, they will have a discussion with the agitating students which is expected to start at 2.30 p.m. But students have already started putting their conditions. They are on strike against the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as a chairman of the governing council for the last 71 days.<br/><br/>Matter became serious when students Gheraoed the Director on the issue of internal assessment of there incomplete projects compelling him to lodge a police compliant leading in the arrest of 5 students. After this incidence, a committee was set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting under chairmanship of registrar of newspapers S M Khan. <br/><br/>Now students expect that the committee should find out a solution on the strike without interfering in the issue of internal assessment. Political shade of FTII students strike is also becoming darker day by day.
