The Food Saftey and Standards Authority of India – FSSAI today urged the Bombay High Court to recall its order allowing Nestle to export Maggi noodles instead of destroying it. The court was hearing a petition filed by Nestle India challenging the food regulator's order banning nine variants of the popular instant food snack.

FSSAI Counsel Mahmood Pracha today claimed that Nestle India is destroying the available batch of product and manufacturing a fresh batch for exporting. The counsel said that Nestle is going against the court order and is destroying evidence by burning the current batch of Maggi noodles. The bench of Justices V M Kanade and B P Colabawalla deferred the hearing to 17th of this month after asking Nestle India to file an affidavit against FSSAI's application.
