FSA between power producers and CIL to be singned with in a month

The Coal Minster Sriprakash Jaiswal on Friday said that Fuel Supply Agreement – FSA between power producers and Coal India Limited-CIL will be signed within a month to resolve the issues of coal supply to the power companies. A meeting between the Coal Minister and Power Minister was held in New Delhi to resolve various issues related to the power sectors and quality of coal. Talking to reporters Mr Jaiswal said that most of the issues related to FSAs have been addressed in the meeting. The Power Minister Mr Scindia said that a joint policy on price pooling of coal is being worked out and was expected within ten days. The Prime Minister's Office on 17th of this month had set a one-month deadline for the public sector power companies, including NTPC, to sign fuel supply pacts with CIL failing which FSAs would be withdrawn.
