Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar held wide ranging discussions with Maldivian leadership on his two day visit to Male that concluded today. Mr Jaishankar's visit was the last leg of his SAARC Yatra initiative for establishing closer ties with neighbouring countries. Bilateral discussion took place when Foreign Secretary met Maldivian Vice President Ahmed Adeeb, Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon, Foreign Secretary Ali Naseer Mohamed and Director at the President's Office, Mohamed Hassaan.<br/> '<br/>According to the president's office, talks mainly focused on trade and economy and included all areas of mutual interest. Mr Jaishankar assured the vice president that India would continue to provide assistance to the Maldives. Vice President Adeeb expressed hope that there would be more Indian investments in the Maldives.
