In Assam, indefinite curfew has been imposed at Kokrajhar town and Gossaigaon sub division areas in Kokrajhar district today.

State Home Secretary G D Tripahti said that curfew was imposed after miscreants shot dead one person at Telipara village under Gossaigaon area while another person was stabbed at market area in Kokrajhar town this morning .

Army is staging flag march and also been asked to help civil administration to maintain law and order situation. One additional company of Central Para-military force has been deployed .

A senior Police officer will camp in the district to monitor present situation. So far 32 miscreants have been arrested. State DGP J N Choudhury said that drive against illegal arms and pro-violence activists has been intensified in Kokrajhar and Chirang district.
