In Assam, indefinite curfew continues in violence hit areas of Kokrajhar district and the security has been beefed up.
The state DGP J N Choudhury today visited violence hit areas and held discussions with senior officials on law and order situation. 55 miscreants have been arrested and 15 illegal arms seized in Kokrajhar district so far.
Six persons have been killed and another five injured in the district since Saturday.Our correspondent reports that the Assam government has put in all efforts to control the situation.
Five columns of army are staging flag march at Kokrajhar and Gossaigaon since yesterday.63 central para-military forces have also been deployed in the district.
The state Group of Ministers constituted for relief and rehabilitation in Bodoland Terrritorial Area Districts, BTAD will visit soon to take stock of the situation.
