Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed from both sides following landslide at Panthal and Digtol and fresh snowfall near Jawahar tunnel. Border Road Organisation personnel are working round the clock to clear the road and restore traffic on the highway but heavy rain and bad weather condition is hampering the work. The upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir including famous ski resort of Gulmarg experienced moderate to heavy snowfall, while the plains were lashed by heavy rain. In Uttarakhand, fresh snowfall in higher reaches and rain in other areas have affected normal life today. Various peaks in Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts are covered under the snow. Met Department says, snowfall and rain are likely to continue in the state for the next 24 hours.
