There has been a fresh outbreak of shooting in the Thai capital Bangkok. At least 19 people have been killed and more than a 150 injured in two days of violence. Explosions and sporadic gunfire were heard in the protest site in Bangkok. The Thai government, however, says that the situation is under control. <br/><br/>UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has appealed to all sides in Thailand to avoid furthering the political violence and to return to dialogue. Ban said, he is following the rapidly mounting violence and tensions in Thailand with growing concern and is saddened by the reports of civilian deaths, including journalists, in clashes between security forces and protesters.<br/> <br/>The United States has also appealed to both the authorities and agitators to show restraint. State Department spokesman, P J Crowley, said Washington is deeply concerned about the situation on the ground in Thailand and appeals to everyone to show restraint and to find a way to work peacefully through these differences.
