Fresh ceasefire violation by Pak troops in Poonch sector of J&K

There has been fresh violation of ceasefire by Pakistani troops along the line of control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani troops today fired on Indian posts in the sector, which was retaliated strongly by Indian Troops.

Defence Spokesperson Col. R K Palta said, Pakistani troops fired on Indian forward posts with small arms and automatic weapons around 7 AM this morning triggering retaliation from Indian troops guarding LOC. The exchanges continued for 10 minutes. However, there was no loss of life or injuries to anyone in Pak firing.

Loc has been witnessing ceasefire violations almost daily since the killing of five Indian soldiers on August 6.

The Pakistani troops have been daily resorting to ceasefire violations since August six this month when its special forces killed five Indian soldiers in Poonch. There have been over 80 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops this year from January . Meanwhile, Army today busted a militant hideout in Gool area of Ramban district in Jammu Division and recovered some arms and ammunition. The recoveries include one AK 56 rifle, One Chinese pistol , Two magazines of AK 56 rifle and 16 empty cartridges. However, no one was arrested from the hideout.
