In Uttarakhand, frequent rain has affected normal life in hilly areas of the state. As per reports more than one hundred villages are cut off from their headquarters. Besides this, dozen of houses were damaged and people are forced to shift to safer places. In rural areas, acres of agricultural land have been washed away following heavy rain. It also affected the water and power supply in different parts of the state. Supply of essential commodities has also been affected in remote areas due to inclement weather. Meanwhile, Met department predicts light to moderate rain across the state in coming 24 hours.
