French workers unions have called for two more days of nation-wide protests against the planned overhaul of the country' pension system. Organisers are calling for fresh protests next Thursday and again on November 6 against the measure to rise the minimum retirement age from 60 to 62 and the age for retirement benefits from 65 to 67. The French Government has asked the Senate to curtail the debate on the legislation and bring it to a vote. On the other hand supporters want to bring the measures to a Senate vote by Friday.
