In French Open Tennis, the second Grand Slam of the season, defending champion Novak Djokovic and 9-time winner Rafael Nadal began their campaigns with easy wins today. Second seed Djokovic beat M. Granollers 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, while fourth seed Nadal defeated B. Paire 6-1, 6-4, 6-1 to enter into second round. Ohthr seeded player Maran Silic also registered easy victory in the first round. In the Women's Singles opening round, fourth placed Spaniard Garbine Muguruza sailed in to the second round beating F. Schiavone. Second seed Karolina Pliskova will be seen in action later today. Yesterday, world number one Angelique Kerber bowed out of the tournament in the opening round.
