French Open Tennis tournament began in Paris today. In the Opening match Germany's Angelique Kerber crashed out of the tournament. She lost to Ekaterina Makarova of Russia 6-2, 6-2 in the Womens Singles event. With this defeat, Kerber became the first WTA Number one to lose in the first round. Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic entered the second round beating Julia Boserup of USA 6-3, 6-2. Monica Puig of Puerto Rico defeated Roberta Vinci of Italy 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. In a Mens Singles Garcia Lopez of Spain beat Gilles Muller of Luxemberg 7-6, 6-7, 6-2, 6-2.
