French Open Tennis Championships begins

The French Open Tennis Championships began in Paris today. All prominent top stars, except Roger Federer, are participating in the tournament, which is the second Grand Slam competition of the year after the Australian Open. Serena Williams and Stanlilas Wawrinka are the defending Singles champions. Women's Top seed Serena Williams, will try for a fourth Title in the torunament and also her 22nd Grand Slam win. The title would draw her level with Steffi Graff as the most successful female player in the Open era. The 34-year old American's previous wins in Paris came in 2002, 2013 and 2015. Williams will start her campaign against Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova, the World No. 76. In the Men's section, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will play for his 12th Grand Slam win and also his first Roland Garros Trophy.
