French Open: Sharapova reaches final for third straight year

Russian Maria Sharapova will meet Romania's Simona Halep in the women's singles final of the French Open Tennis championships tomorrow. In the semi-finals in Paris yesterday, while seventh seeded Sharapova overcame Canada's Eugenie Bouchard in three sets 4-6, 7-5, 6-2, fourth seeded Halep defeated Andrea Petkovic of Germany in straight sets 6-2, 7-6. 27-year old Sharapova has reached the women's singles final of the French Open for the third straight year. She is now seeking her fifth Grand Slam title. For the 22-year old Simona, it is her first Grand Slam final. In the Men's Singles semi-finals today, Rafael Nadal will take on Andy Murray, while Novak Djokovic will clash with Latvian Ernests Gulbis.
