French Open: Sharapova lifts women's singles title

Maria Sharapova has won her maiden French Open Women's singles title. In the final in Paris yesterday, the second seeded Russian, outclassed Italian Sara Errani in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 and became the 10th woman to complete a career Grand Slam. Sharapova had earlier won the Wimbledon Crown in 2004, the US Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in 2008. In the Men singles final, world Number One Novak Djokovic will clash with second seed Rafael Nadal today. The top two players won in straight sets in their semifinals on Friday. While top-seeded Djokovic beat third-seeded Federer 6-4, 7-5, 6-3, second-seeded Nadal whitewashed sixth-seeded Ferrer 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.
