Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have stormed into the Women's Doubles quarterfinals of the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the season. Last night, the top seeded Indo-Swiss pair defeated the Italian team of Roberta Vinci and Karin Knapp, 6-1, 6-4 to book a place in the last-8.Sania is the only Indian left in the tournament as Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna, with their teammates, crashed out yesterday after losing their pre-quarterfinal fixtures. Paes and his Canadian teammate Daniel Nestor lost to Italians Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli, 2-6, 4-6, while Bopanna and Romania's Florin Mergea went down fighting to Dutch Jean-Julien Rojer and his Romanian partner Horia Tecau, 3-6, 7-6, 3-6.In the Singles, world number four Tomas Berdych made an exit after losing to Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 3-6, 2-6, 7-6, 3-6. Roger Federer's match could not be completed due to bad weather, while Maria Sharapova's match was cancelled.
