Kashyap, pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa today advanced to the second round, while unseeded H S Prannoy stunned 3rd seed Lin Dan to enter the second round.In the singles opening round matches, world number one Saina defeated Michelle Li of Canada in straight sets, 21-18, 21-13 and eighth placed Kashyap beat French Thomas Rouxel, 21-11, 22-20.
