French Open: Garbine Muguruza knocked out Maria Sharapova in quarter-finals

In French Open Tennis, world number three Garbine Muguruza knocked out two-time winner Maria Sharapova in the quarter-finals last evening.
 
The Spaniard, who had won the tournament in 2016, defeated Sharapova, Russia's 28th seed, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. In the semi-finals, Muguruza will face world number one Simona Halep of Romania.
 
In Men's Singles, 10-time winner and top seed Rafael Nadal's last-8 match with Argentine Diego Schwartzman was held up last night by rain. Nadal trails the 11th seed, 3-6, 5-3.
