French private airline Aigle Azur plans to resume direct flights to Iraq in October. According to local media, Francois Hersen head of Aigle Azur today said the airlines hope to start fights in late October targeting French companies chasing huge business opportunities in the troubled country. He said Aigles Azur, the third French flag carrier, will run three direct flights a week targetting mainly at businessmen.Ambassador in Iraq, Boris Boillon said Iraq represents 600 billion US dollars of reconstruction business and it is a considerable opportunity for French big and small enterprises. Direct flights between Paris and Baghdad had been suspended since the first Gulf War in 1990 following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.
