Uttarakhand Government has decided to provide the facility of free travel to all girl students in State transport buses of state transport corporation inside the state on the basis of their college identity card. This was announced by the Chief Minister B C Khanduri in a book release programme which was organised on the state foundation day in Dehradun today.He also announced to enhance the honorarium from 1000 Rs per month to 1500 Rs per month of 32 Bhojan Mata employed under the Mid Day Meal Scheme in all primary schools of the state.Mr. Khanduri said that Godowns of 500 metric tones capacity will be constructed for food grains storage in all the 670 Nyay Panchayats of the state.AIR correspondent reports that the state government has cancelled all the cultural functions to be organised on the state Foundation Day today due to yesterday's stampede at Haridwar in which 20 pilgrims lost their lives.
