The Delhi Government has announced free supply of 20 thousand litres of water per month to every household in the city from tomorrow. A decision in this regard was taken in the Delhi Jal Board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejrwial in Koshambi, Ghaziabad yesterday. Briefing reporters after the meeting, Delhi Jal Board CEO, Vijay Kumar said the benefit will be provided to the people who have functional water meters. He, however, said households using more than 20 thousand litres of water per month would attract tariff for the whole usage.
The Chief Minister's office later disclosed that there will be a 10 per cent increase in tariff for those consuming more than 20 kilo litres who will be required to pay the full bill amount.Officials said the increase is for various customers including the household connections, industrial and bulk consumers
