In Egypt, Large number of pro-democracy activists gathered at historical Tahrir Square on Friday in Cairo to celebrate the victory after overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule. The Higher Military Council is under pressure from activists demanding the release of political prisoners, the lifting of emergency rule and fair elections. Meanwhile, Egyptian military has warned that it would not tolerate strikes and asked striking employees to return to work. Life in Egypt is still far from normal as tanks are on the streets, banks closed, workers on strike and schools shut.
