A socialist lawmaker died after collapsing on stage during a speech at a campaign rally for French presidential frontrunner Emmanuel Macron. Party officials said today that 50 years old Corinne Erhel was the last to speak at the rally in western France when she suddenly fell to the ground.<br/><br/>She was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Erhel joined the centrist political movement of Macron, who polls predict will beat his far-right rival Marine Le Pen in tomorrow's decisive run-off.<br/><br/>Socialist President Francois Hollande said, Erhel, who was a member of parliament since 2007, was fully invested in her parliamentary work, while still remaining close to the people.
