France on heightened terror alert

France is on heightened alert for possible terror attacks after intelligence report suggested public places could be targeted.French police and counter-terrorism officials who were speaking on condition of anonymity, said the authorities had received intelligence input about a possible suicide bombing by a woman. Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux, without confirming the reports, said the terrorism threat is real. French authorities have recently beefed up police patrols at landmarks around the country.
