France has ruled out deploying more combat troops to Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the United States has denied having any disappointment by the French decision to send only eighty more trainers to Afghanistan, hoping that President Sarkozy would be able to do more later. The NATO leaders say new training teams are urgently needed if Afghanistan's security forces are to grow to a target of three lakh personnel in 2011.
