In Mumbai, after the final results of the Kalyan Dombivili Municipal Corporation elections which were announced today no political party has got a clean sweep. The saffron alliance of Shiv Sena and BJP are leading with 41 seats. Shiv Sena has won on 32 seats while its ally BJP has managed to won only on 9 seats. On the hand the arch-rival Congress and NCP have won on 15 seats each. However the Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has made an immense impact in this election and has bagged 25 seats. While the remaining 11 seats have been won by the independent candidates who will play a vital role in the making of new mayor for the Kalyan-Dombivili Municipal Corporation in the adjoining Thane district. The KDMC elections were the litmus test for most political parties ahead of the BMC elections in Mumbai early next year.
