Fourth Bangladesh Film Festival Inaugurated in Kolkata

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: #000000;">The fourth Bangladesh Film Festival was inaugurated on Saturday in Kolkata. The five day long festival is showcasing 37 popular Bangladeshi films including four documentaries and eight short films. <br />''<br />'' The festival was inaugurated by the Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Hassan Mahmud at Rabindra Sadan in the afternoon on Saturday. The film screenings are being held at Nandan Kanan on a daily basis between 12 noon to 8 prime minister. The festival will conclude on November 2.<br />''<br />''The recent Bangladeshis sensation 'Hawa' along with Beauty Circus and Gor were screened on the inaugural day of the festival at Nandan auditorium 1, 2 and 3. 'Hasina, a daughter's tale' was also screened as a documentary film on the inaugural day. <br />''<br />''Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that art and culture are not bound by geographic separations. He said artists like Suchitra Sen- Uttam Kumar are not only of India, they are of Bangladesh as well. The Minister of Information Technology, Electronics and Tourism of West Bengal Babul Supriyo said that India and Bangladesh have to take joint initiatives for the development of films in both the countries.<br />''<br />''Some of the most popular and critically acclaimed films like Hawa, Poran, Gunin, Hridita, Beauty Circus, Kalbela, Chandravati Katha, Rehana Marium Noor, Lal Morger Jhunti, No-Dorai among others will be screened during the festival. <br />''<br />''Hasina-A Daughter's tale, Badhya Bhumete Ekdin, Ekti Desher Jonno Gaan (Song for a country) and Modhumoti Parer Manushti Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are the four documentary films being screened during the festival. </span><br />
