In Jammu & Kashmir, four militants were killed and one Pakistani militant captured alive in a four day joint operation by Army and Special Operations Group through robust counter infiltration grid which helped in foiling the infiltration bid in north Kashmir's Uri sector of Baramulla district. <br/><br/>Four AK- 47 Rifles and other arms and ammunition was also recovered from the encounter site. An Army spokesman told AIR that based on intelligence input a search operation was launched on Monday Aug 24 in the forested area of Rafiabad at Kazinag Dhar Ridge in the district. <br/><br/>Special forces were used through helicopters to prevent escape of militants. One militant was killed in an initial gunfight yesterday early morning. Out of four, three militants were killed in a fierce encounter while tracking them in a natural cave in the area. One 22 year old Lashkar e Toiba militant Sajjad of Baluchistan Pakistan was captured alive. <br/><br/>Sajjad is the second Pakistani militant captured alive after Naved alias Usman Khan was apprehended by locals after an attack on BSF in Udhampur Jammu on 5th of this month. Two BSF constables and a Pakistani militant Noman had been killed in the Udhampur encounter. On 3rd of last month, one soldier and two armed militants were killed when Army foiled an infiltration bid near Noori forward post in Boniyar area of Uri Sector.
