In Assam, four suspected Bengali Tiger Force (BTF) were shot dead in a joint operation of police and army at Chereng Chapori in Darang district today. One 9 M.M. pistol, 3 revolvers of 7.62 bore, 13 rounds of ammunition and 3 Chinese made hand- grenades were recovered from the site of encounter.<br/><br/>Acting on a tip of, a joint team of Police and Army cordoned the area. Suspected ultras hiding in the area fired at the security personnel. When security force retaliated, all of them were killed on the spot.<br/>
