Four rounds of bidding took place in e-auction of first batch of private FM radio phase III channels

Four rounds of bidding took place Friday in the e-auction of the first batch of private FM radio phase III channels. Till now, 20 rounds of bidding are over. At the close of the fifth day of bidding Friday, 80 channels in 55 cities became provisionally winning channels with cumulative provisional winning price of around 714 crore rupees against their aggregate reserve price of about 391 crore rupees. The summation of provisional winning prices has exceeded the total reserve price of the first batch by about 163.48 crore rupees or 29.71 per cent. 550.18 crore rupees is the total reserve price of the first batch. One channel in Delhi got provisional winning price of 105.23 crore rupees at end of Round 20, which is more than three times its reserve price of 31.42 crore rupees. The Auction for the first batch comprising 135 FM Channels in 69 existing cities of Phase II began on 27th of last month. Bidding will re-commence on Monday morning.
