Four NDFB militants killed in Assam, abducted businessman rescued

In Assam, the Army special forces rescued a civilian abducted by National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) men in a major operation. The army also eliminated four militants of the outfit during the encounter. A senior officer in the Army headquarters said in New Delhi that acting on a tip off, the forces launched a swift surprise attack on a militant hide out located in dense forests bordering East Siang district and rescued the victim. The rescued person is a shop owner in Dimu in Dhemaji district and the kidnapping was said to be for extortion purposes.
