In Uttar Pradesh, the encephalitis toll this year has mounted to 421 as four more children succumbed to the disease during past twenty four hours in BRD Medical College Hospital at Gorakhpur.

Quoting official sources, our Gorakhpur correspondent reports, 41 new patients suffering from brain fever were admitted to the hospital yesterday. 235 patients are undergoing treatment in government hospitals of the region.
