India expressed dismay over new incidents of attacks against Indians in Australia on Thursday with External Affairs Minister S M Krishna once again expected to raise the issue with his Australian counterpart Stephen Smith on the margins of a conference in London. Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur said in a statement in New Delhi that government is dismayed over the fresh incidents of violence.

Mr. Krishna had met Smith yesterday and had conveyed that these attacks are particularly worrisome as the Indian community members appeared to have been singled out and it was becoming increasingly difficult to accept these attacks as mere opportunistic crimes devoid of any racial motives. The reaction comes after four more Indian youths including three cabbies were attacked in Brisbane, Australia. Sky News reported that apart from three cab drivers, the fourth victim was a 23-year-old pizza delivery boy who was bashed up with a cricket bat and robbed while making a delivery in Brisbane.
