Four militants, soldier killed in gunfight near LoC in J&K's Kupwara

In Jammu & Kashmir, four militants and a soldier were killed in a two-day-long gunfight near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, defence sources said. Defence spokesman Col N N Joshi told AIR that Army foiled a major infiltration bid in Nowgam sector of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. <br/><br/>During the operation four heavily armed unidentified militants were killed. He also confirmed the killing of one soldier in the operation. Four AK-47 riles, ammunition and other warlike stores were recovered. Army's 35 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) who are manning the Line of Control (LoC) intercepted a group of militants yesterday morning near Jati area in Toot Mar Gali (TMG) in the Handwara sector.
