Four member committee to probe New Delhi Rly station stampede<br/><br/>Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has appointed, a four-member panel to probe into Sunday's stampede at the New Delhi Railway station. The Railway Minister has viewed the stampede as a serious incident, and decided to have a more detailed and focussed inquiry. She has instructed the officials to ensure that strict action was taken against those responsible for the stampede.<br/><br/>A compensation of two lakh rupees to next of kin of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured have been announced. The Railways will also pay 15,000 rupees to those with minor injuries.<br/><br/>According to Railway officials, a 35-year-old woman and a young boy were killed and seven others, including three women, injured in the incident.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Northern Railway has decided not to sell platforms tickets at various stations from Monday in the national capital with a view to control crowds inside the Railway station.<br/><br/>The decision was taken in the wake of a stampede which claimed two lives and injured others on Sunday at New Delhi Station.<br/><br/>Talking to AIR, Northern Railways spokesman, Anant Swarup said that such tickets will not be sold up to first week of July at New Delhi, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Stations due to the summer rush.<br/><br/>He said that Railway is also planning to use Anand Vihar Terminal for summer special trains going towards eastern parts of the country.<br/>
