Four Maoists surrender before Andhra police

Four top Maoists, two of them active in Maharashtra state, surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh police in Hyderabad on Tuesday. All the four underground Maoists, including a couple hailing from Adilabad in the state, involved in various offences gave up before the Additional Director General of Police M Ratan, Law and Order.Mr Ratan told reporters that Maddela Adellu, a Maharashtra State Committee member carried a reward of 10 lakh rupees on his head while his wife Kurma Rambai carried a reward of three lakh rupees. Ananda was involved in nine offences including four exchanges of fire, one ambush, two murders and a lorry-burning case in Maharashtra. Two other Maoists who surrendered to police were Killo Raju and Sreendri Subba Rao, both tribals and native of Kannavaram village in Visakhapatnam district.
