In Andhra Pradesh, four members of banned CPI (Maoists) including three women were killed in the forest area of Visakhapatnam district in an encounter with the police. The encounter occurred today. The special party police who are conducting regular combing operations in the adjoining Andhra-Orissa Border met the Maoists near Cheruvuru resulting in a cross fire. A Reserve Sub-Inspector who was injured severely in the action had been airlifted to a city based hospital immediately. The police have recovered 40 kit bags and a rifle from the spot of the incident and the search operations are going on. It is believed that more than 60 members of the cadre assembled in the thick jungles in the backdrop of Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army’s 5th anniversary.
