In Punjab, five persons, including four of a family died and two were injured in a head on collision between a car and truck near village Dogranwal on the Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway today morning. The Four members of the Goldsmith family from Amritsar died on the spot while the fifth person succumbed to injuries in a private hospital at Jalandhar. Police said, the family was going from Amritsar to Jalandhar Cantt by their car. Near village Dogranwal, the driver of the car in a bid to save two motorcyclists who suddenly came on the way, hit the truck head on. The truck was coming from the Jalandhar side. The motorcycle riders were also injured in the mishap. They have been admitted in a local hospital at village Mustfabad and is said to be out of danger. The police have registered a case of negligent driving against the motorcycle driver.
