Four Indian Naval ships arrived in Srilankan Ports Saturday morning to enhance the relationship between the two navies. The ships – INS ‘Tir’, INS ‘Shardul’ and ICGS ‘Varuna’ arrived at Trincomalee port while INS Tarangini arrived at Colombo port. The ships were given a ceremonial welcome by the Sri Lanka Navy and are scheduled to stay in Sri Lanka till 15th October. During the course of the six day stay, the group of 160 visiting Indian Naval officer cadets is scheduled to participate in a series of training programme organized by the Sri Lanka Navy 150 Sri Lankan Naval Officer, who are under training from Naval and Maritime Academy- Trincomalee are to board the Indian ships for a session of sea training.
