Four-day Chhath Puja celebrations has begun across the country from today during which devotees pay special prayer to the Sun God. <br/><br/>It is a festival connected with purity, devotion to the Sun God, who is considered as the source of life on this earth and is regarded as the deity who fulfills all wishes.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people on the occasion of Chhath Puja. In a tweet he wrote, prayers to Sun God to shower blessings of health, peace & progress on everyone.<br/><br/>Devotees are observing Nahaye Khaye today, as entire atmosphere in Bihar reverberates with devotional songs.<br/><br/>Devotees started their day with holy bath early in the morning in river Ganga and bring some water to their home to prepare the offerings.They take only one meal a day known as Kaddu bhat cooked only by using the bronze or soil utensils and mango woods over the soil stove. Devotees keep fast for whole day and break their fast in the evening after sunset on worshiping Sun. <br/><br/>They offer kheer, puris, fruits in the puja. After taking meal in the evening, they go on a fast without water for the next 36 hours. Standing in knee deep water devotees will pay oblation to the setting Sun on Sunday. Chhath puja will conclude on Monday morning after paying oblation to the rising Sun.
