Union Labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya said four bills pertaining to labour reforms will be tabled in the winter session of Parliament beginning from November 26th. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad today on the occasion of completing one year in office, Dattatreya said bills related to industrial code on wages, industrial relations and amendments to Employment Provident Fund – EPF and Employment State Insurance Corporation- ESIC will be sent to Cabinet for approval in a few days and later they will be introduced in Parliament for legislation.<br/><br/>Dattatreya exuded confidence that these four bills and two bills related to Bonus Act and Child Labour & Regulation Act which were already introduced in the Parliament will be passed in the upcoming session of Parliament. <br/><br/>He said the NDA's performance in Bihar elections will not affect ongoing labour reforms process in the country.<br/>Talking about initiatives in the last one year, Dattatreya said the labour ministry generated 35 lakh jobs in the last one year. <br/><br/>He said 4.5 crore construction workers will be provided ESI facility shortly and this facility will be extended to construction workers in Delhi and Hyderabad in the first phase and later and later to all beneficiaries across the country. <br/><br/>He said he will formally launch it in Hyderabad on December 25th to mark the birthday of former prime minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee. <br/><br/>He said consultations are underway with stakeholders over National Domestic Workers draft policy.<br/><br/>The union minister also said the labour ministry for the first time invested EFP funds to the tune of 6,000 crore rupees in equity to get better gains from market so as to provide higher returns to EPF subscribers. <br/><br/>Stating that investments in market will fetch benefit to beneficiaries in the long run, Dattatreya said all safeguards are being taken in this respect keeping market volatile conditions in mind.
