Jalandhar Rural Police has confiscated 3000 kilogram of poppy husk and 30 kilogram of opium and have arrested four persons including a woman under NDPS act in two different incidents of smuggling of contraband in Punjab. The market value of these narcotics is 1.5 crore.Jalandhar Rural Police Chief said that , working on a specific tip-off, police managed to confiscate 100 sacks of poppy husk from atruck. Whereas, in the second incidence, a man and a woman, from Jharkhand were arrested with 30 kilogram of opium at Bhogpur during a search operation.
