<span style="color: #222222;">The foundation stone of two Integrated Processing Units of Sikkim Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Organics Limited, SIFFCO was laid down by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang. Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar was present on this occasion as the chief guest.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Sikkim IFFCO Organics Limited is a joint venture between the world's biggest fertilizer Cooperative, IFFCO and Government of Sikkim. Its aim is to promote and market the organic produce of the country and especially from Sikkim and other north-eastern states of India. The major commercial crops in which Sikkim IFFCO will operate are ginger, turmeric, large cardamom and buckwheat. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' In his address, the Union Minister stated that the Centre would provide all possible support for the progress of Sikkim and its agriculture and would always work in the interest of farmers and to further encourage organic farming of Sikkim. He mentioned that the upcoming unit will help to transform the lives of farmers and people of Sikkim and to increase the production of farmers and to take local produce of Sikkim in the international market.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Mr Tomar congratulated the Chief Minister, farmers and people of Sikkim for their contribution to make Sikkim an Organic State.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' In his address, the CM mentioned that Sikkim was the first organic state of the country and the State government has been committed to attain sustainable agriculture and to promote the green Himalayan economy.</span><br />
