In reply to a query during weekly media briefing in New Delhi, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that preparations for the successful organisation and holding of the Summit are underway. The SECURE acronym was coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 2018 SCO Summit and stands for Security, Economy and Trade, Connectivity, Unity, Respect for Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity and Environment. These themes have been highlighted during India's Chairmanship of SCO.India assumed the rotating Chairmanship of SCO at the Samarkand Summit on 16 th September last year.</span></p>
