President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea, Kim Yong Nam on Wednesday met former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and three other former world leaders. Mr. Carter, accompanied by former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari, former Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Brundtland and former Irish president Mary Robinson, arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday. The three-day visit is aimed at seeking easing of tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Mr. Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, said that their visit would focus on Pyongyang's nuclear programme and food aid needs.
