Former President Dr. Kalam schedule to arrive in Dhaka today

Former President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka today afternoon on a two-day visit to Bangladesh. Dr. Kalam has been invited to participate in the special programme being organized on Thursday to mark the 33rd Founding Anniversary of the Centre for Integrated Rural Development of Asia and the Pacific located in the city. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will deliver a lecture on the topic ‘Sustainable Development System for Asia Pacific ‘as a part of CIRDAP’s celebration of the Centre’s 33rd Founding Anniversary.Following his arrival in Dhaka today, Dr.Kalam is also scheduled to meet Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the evening. He will also be interacting with a group of children from Bangladesh and other CIRDAP Member-States on Thursday as a part of his two-day programme in Bangladesh. CIRDAP is a regional, inter-governmental, and autonomous institution established in 6 July 1979 to act as a regional platform to promote rural development. Its member countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
