Former Pak PM Raja Pervez Ashraf barred from leaving country on corruption allegations

The Federal Investigation Agency, FIA, of Pakistan has barred former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf from leaving Pakistan over allegation of corruption in setting up Rental Power Projects. He has also been placed on the Exit Control List.

The FIA has ordered all airports in the country as well as the immigration authorities to ensure that all the accused in the power project scam case including Raja Pervez Ashraf do not leave Pakistan.

Ashraf suffered a humiliating defeat in the general election in a parliamentary constituency in his hometown of Gujjar Khan near Rawalpindi.
