Former Odisha Minister Raghunath Mohanti arrested in dowry case.

Former Odisha Law Minister Raghunath Mohanty and his wife have been arrested from Kolkata in connection with a dowry case. The BJD leader had resigned as the Law Minister of the state after dowry allegations were made against him.

Mohanty had gone absconding and was not seen in public since he resigned. A dowry case was filed against Raghunath Mohanty by his daughter-in-law.

In her complaint at the Balasore police station, she alleged that she was physically and mentally abused by her in-laws for dowry a few days after her marriage in June 2012. She alleged that her in-laws demanded 25 lakh rupees and a Scorpio car from her family.
